Student and Community Engagement
The 格里利市 promotes sustainability and encourages community members to contribute to natural resource conservation. Greeley’s Water Conservation Program is one of the largest programs in the State and anticipates a more than 8 percent reduction in water demand over the next 20 years.
The city provides a recycle center for cardboard, paper products, glass, plastic, as well as the Greeley Organic Waste (GROW) Center for the disposal of green waste.
The 波德雷河小径 provides 20 miles of non-motorized recreational opportunities along the Cache La Poudre River and was built in cooperation with Windsor and Weld 县.

In April 2012, students voted on and passed the Student 领导 for Environmental Action Fund (LEAF), which will create a fund sustained by a $1 per credit hour student fee, up to 10 credit hours each semester (and up to $20 per a traditional academic 年).

This year’s Earth Week, hosted by 学生叶, will take place April 15th ——4月19日th in celebration of the globally recognize Earth Day on April 22th! Throughout the week 学生叶 encourages students to engage in exciting sustainable events and indulge in the beauty of the environment. This year’s theme is Student Empowerment; the goal is to provide UNC Bears with the tools and skills to reduce their individual footprints and increase their positive influence on this earth!

The entire event is free and there will be chances to win cool prizes, meet some sustainable bears and learn about the efforts made to make UNC a university fit for the future.

Each year the carbon cube is set up (usually in the UC) to display a fraction of the amount of UNC’s carbon emissions in each building.
